Rafi Chowdhury is the founder & CEO of Chowdhury’s Digital, co-founder of myCampusHacks, and is an experienced digital marketing consultant based in Memphis, Tennessee. He helps companies in Memphis grow their revenue by directing targeted visitors to their websites. A graduate of the University of Memphis, Rafi Chowdhury holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. As a young entrepreneur and well-known chess coach, he is the owner of numerous awards and accomplishments including, Shelby County Chess Co-Champion, winner of the Mid-South Psychology Conference, and has been ranked among the Top 100 best young chess players in the nation.
He has appeared on the Commercial Appeal, ABC News, United States Chess Federation, and has recently been featured on The University of Memphis Magazine, Startup Dhaka, Paycheck to Passion, and numerous other blogs and magazines. Rafi is currently working with partnering company iPS3 Web as an SEO Analyst and Digital Marketing Consultant in Memphis and consults with local businesses about their marketing campaigns.

I did chess for a long time in high school and college.
How did your journey as an entrepreneur all begin?
I tried flipping items on eBay.
I was into fish for a long time and would breed fish and sell them out to PetCo.
Got into it really with chess, at 14 started my own chess coaching business, it paid for whatever expenses I had in high school.
Coaching students, etc.
First business was my chess club and businesses that I ran that just didn’t make a lot of money.
In college I got into physcology a lot.
Which got me more into consumer physcology.
myCampusHacks.com – connects students with productive, launched back in 2014.
Launched my own website and got into digital marketing consultency.
Became a full time consultant.
Big Reason Why?
The 2 days in your life that are extremely important. The day you’re born and when you realize why.
Give something back to the people who have done something for me.
The goal for me is to leave the world a better place then I found it when I got here.
Biggest Temporary Defeat?
Teaching skills using chess and apply it to things in real life, this program was a unique idea and I spread it really fast. We got it to 25 schools locally and in 5 of those school it became apart of the school curriculum.
But I couldn’t scale this business in Memphis. I Became to overwhelmed. Model didn’t work and became to complicated.
Giving back and enjoying what I’m doing.

Having a full scale digital agency.

Get a job…but assuming it’s not an option… I would get a domain, website and start blogging teaching people in the industry I’m in.

Elon Musk – he’s extremely innovative. His projects can revolutionize humanity.
