Interestingly Weird Fact?
One thing most people don’t know about me…. The Greatest Loser show makes me cry because they get so happy through their transformation.
How did your journey as an entrepreneur all begin?
Go back to the 70’s, my dad owned a construction company and hired me at 13 to remodel this pawn shop. Did that and in 3 years was finished.
I loved working at this pawn shop, fell in love with it and decided I wanted to do it as a career.
Met a couple guys who had a lot of money.
At age 18 went to the bank and signed a note for $150K.
Went out on my own at 18, negotiated a lease and opened a pawn shop.
Got married 2 weeks out of high school.
Lived very intentional and poured all my money into the business.
At age 21 I had a paid for business. Did it again.
At age 27 someone bought me out and bought the businesses.
Then I bought the pawn shop back I started out with as a child and in 2001 I headed to the office and my life changed that day forever.
I ran a person over, sold the business and retired.
Traveled extensively, built a new house, took 5 years off.
Woke me up for nap again and got into a construction business.
When turned 50 retired.
Then recently I started ViewFromTheTop and started coaching.
I facilitate 3 mastermind groups and probably having more.
Big Reason Why?
Started asking what’s really important?
Top things for me success wise is: choosing my own schedule and then financial freedom. The bigger things for me is having a family and engaging relationships.
Taking care of my self physically. Being content without being complacent.
Happiness is a choice not a trait.
The relationships is what’s important to people. Yet we spend 95% of our time trying to get more stuff.
Best Entrepreneurial Advice?
Majority of the time, the thing that holds entrepreneurs back more than anything is fear.
2 mantras I live my life by…
My mom didn’t allow us to say the word “can’t”.
Failure is in not trying, not in not succeeding. Push through fear.
Who’s your favorite super hero and why?
Dan Miller, 498 days to the world you love.
Dan is reason I’m coaching, we been in mastering groups for 2 decades.
