Her last company was acquired by in 2005.
Today, she and her husband, Phil, operate CorpNet.com where they help entrepreneurs start, grow and maintain their businesses.
Nellie shares her expert tips with readers at Forbes, Entrepreneur and Mashable and is a regular guest expert on the Fox Small Business Center.
She was named a Top 100 Small Business Influencer in 2012, 2013, and 2014 by Small Business Trends.

I come across as being a hard ball but truly I’m really sensitive and a teddy bear inside.
How did your journey as an entrepreneur all begin?
He had the idea of starting businesses online while I was working at a law firm.
We spent $100 on a domain name, our first company was born and grew the company.
Fast forward to 2009 when our non compete ended, I was to bored to take on early retirement even though the sale of the first company given us enough funds to last for lifetimes.
So my husband and I started all over again with Corpnet.com
Big Reason Why?
My why is because I want to help people blaze their own trails like I have.
The legacy is I want to be remembered for I saw her or heard her and because of her I started my business and am where I am today.
Biggest Temporary Defeat?
Having this notion of I did it before so I’ll do it again.
Every new venture is a new venture and you have to look at it as a new baby.
What worked then don’t necessarily work today.
What’s the Vision of Nellie Akalp look like for the future?
I do have a set of twins right now, teenagers are hard and don’t always agree with us.
Have more time to be able to travel, I love to travel the world.
With business, no plan on selling no exit plans whatsoever.
Keep this business and as kids grow they eventually run it.
My kids are entrepreneurial minded and interested in it.
Long term visions, continue to innovate and create this awareness for entrepreneur start ups.

My most favorite is for those really thinking about coming into entrepreneurship and they think it’s impossible, you make it your reality and it becomes your reality.
