She first started blogging in 2008 and went dead broke after falling for a scam.
Then Mary Jacksch (pronounced Yuksh) created a 6-figure income within 9 months by blogging and running courses.
“A-List Blogging” is her brainchild.
Mary has now helped over 4,000 bloggers become successful online and many of her students now earn a six-figure income.

- Is a 4th Degree Black belt in Karate
- Has her MA in Religious Studies
- For fun Mary enjoys mountain biking and dancing tango in skimpy dresses.
- Use to be a professional musician.
- Mary trains in Martial Arts 3-5 times a week.
Martial Arts taught her how to go beyond what is possible.
It also taught her how to Focus on 1 thing at a time and to have a gutsy approach to life.
How did your journey as an entrepreneur all begin?
Mary never thought she would be an entrepreneur and never thought she would make a lot of money blogging.
Her son shared the idea of a blog with her and her son created her blog.
She had no experience or expectations.
Mary then started writing on Leo Babauta’s ZenHabits.net blog as a guest blogger, then partnered with him.
Then she got the idea to train bloggers because when Mary first got started blogging she was really confused and didn’t know anything.
However, Mary was confident she would find out enough and figure it out in time.

What’s your blogging strategy?
It’s important to have the best content you can produce.
This is much more important then blogging 3 times a week or everyday and such.
Quality is most important.
Mary experiments all the time.
She has a traffic avalanche strategy she’s gonna be releasing a course on.
Mary says to…
“Have that mindset of curiosity because it’s a great mindset to have because when everything is open, creativity is sharpened.”
Mary produces 3 bits of content each week and runs her blog like a real business.
80% of blogging she adores because she can travel and experience freedom.
Where to start blogging if you’re brand new and have no experience?
Think about 2 things…
- What you’re passionate about.
- What people need information about.
Identify your target audience.
Solve peoples problems.
In the end you want to be useful for people.
Big Reason Why:
To make people belong.
Always making people feel that they belong.
Create spaces so they can feel at home and belong.
Biggest Temporary Defeat as a blogger and how you overcame it?
Software on launch didn’t work and sponsors weren’t getting any traffic.
Then Mary Jaksch discovered the way forward and suggested how to solve it.
When things go wrong, my first thought is….

If you had to start all over again and all you had was a $1,000 dollar budget and a laptop, what would you do?
- Start a blog, have digital real estate nobody can take.
- Start a strategy.
- Start commenting on blogs you really like and connecting with other bloggers.
