Mark Chassman has spent more than 25 years as a sales and business development executive with some of America’s most recognizable entertainment and media brands; ABC-TV, AOL and Facebook, where he was employee 43.
Frustrated with antiquated approaches used to grow him as a leader, Mark decided to convert his discontent into becoming a catalyst for change in the way people are equipped to become influencers in their lives and in the world.
Today, Mark is Co-Founder of The Social Leadership Academy, a global training organization that offers an educational experience designed to help those with desire to cross over from being an employee or one-man-band to leading as a successful entrepreneur.
Mark, what’s an Interestingly weird fact about yourself?
The most interesting weird fact about myself, at 43 years old being burnt out of the corporate world, I had the opportunity to work for a startup company called Facebook.
I joined Facebook before the first year was included and learned a lot.
The most impressive thing I learned was how focussed they were on energizing the organization on doing something bigger than themselves.
My job description was to go out and blaze path to generate revenue through advertising.
How did your journey as an entrepreneur all begin?
Worked in the television business and was thrown into an environment where I had no idea what I was doing.
Big Reason Why?
I got to a point in my life where I felt like is this all there is, I felt more I can be doing and experiencing by going out and being in a more entrepreneurial environment.
Biggest Temporary Defeat?
I figured out my strengths and weaknesses.
I’ve always been about building teams and bringing strengths to where I am weak.
Spent a lot of time trying to make something work that wasn’t going to work.
What’s the Vision of Mark Chassman look like for the future?
Really about equipping the next generation of servant hearted inspiring leaders to actually become sustainable entrepreneurs.
