Marcos, what’s an Interestingly weird fact about yourself?
I use to love watching cooking shows when I was younger.
How did your journey as an entrepreneur all begin?
I didn’t even tell family members.
Lived with my aunt and uncle.
In 1986 moved to Gardena (next to South Central & watts), California.
Grew up in the hood.
I was into graffiti and skateboarding.
The crack epidemic took off, the streets were such a violent place.
Influenced by drug dealers.
I began getting shot at, friends started getting killed, overdosing, it was a very scary time.
Moved from 1 war zone to another.
Got sucked into that environment.
Had the location and song picked out because I wanted to have the biggest funeral.
My friend #5 died, Brian.
Then snapped out of it when I fell in love at age 19/20.
I became a regular person and started looking for work.
Started in the car business selling cars and opened my own used car dealership.
Started with $6,000, then my investor pulled out.
I had the location but no inventory and had to somehow get this thing going.
Started selling a lot of cars, even ones outside my lot.
Closed the dealership after 5 years because I was no longer happy with it.
Decided to close it, let it go and my spiritual journey began.
Was now looking for answers and it was not all about the money anymore.
Started searching for answers within me.
Bought into a limo company and lost a fortune.
We drove around Celebs like Janet Jackson, Paris Hilton, etc.
The industry got disrupted by companies like Uber, etc.
After that got into a jewelry company doing gold investing.
My book is called Midas Mindset for Entrepreneurs.
I started going all in with self development.
Went to Nicaragua to go visit and fell in love with my home land.
Exported my wealth over there and had an incredible awakening, reaching a level I never reached before in June of 2011.
I found my purpose.
Big Reason Why:
There is no way I should be alive and my friend dead, heard my moms voice tell me, I’m here for a reason.
What it comes down to, after that awakening that morning, HELPING OTHERS.
Giving without any strings attached.
My purpose has me going back to Nicaragua.
