I first met Jon at one of our events a couple years ago back in Chicago when he was just 20 years old and already earning multiple 6 figures online.
This is a true story…
We took our team out to celebrate at a jazz club and they wouldn’t allow Jon inside because he was only 20 years old so the ironic part was the fact that…
….at age 20 Jon was old enough to make over 30K a month but unable to hang out with us at a jazz club because of his age, LOL.
Jon is now 22 years old, and has been marketing online for 4-5 years.
He first started with video SEO and video marketing and built a list of around 86K leads and done close to 7 figures in online sales.
Jon, what’s an interestingly weird fact about yourself?
I bought a new moped bicycle scooter, and the ambulance crashed straight into me and broke my ankle.
The ambulance also ran over my fingers, dislocating 2 of them and knocked me out unconscious.
How did your journey as an entrepreneur all begin?
I remember back in school, all I wanted to do was build a business.
I would see businesses in things taking place around me.
Had a terrible schooling, it didn’t do well.
I didn’t wanna learn and was in anger management, always in fights, and was the class clown.
My school said to my parents, “Your son we need out of the school.”
So I was only in school 2 days out of 5 and was ready for the world.
I started running the cafe I started working at.
Started with catering when I left school because I enjoyed cooking.
While studying catering I became fascinated with the net and started with an eBay business.
Long story short I was buying and selling on eBay.
Got fascinated with online marketing and affiliate marketing.
Kept working hard and studying online marketing for a 2 year stretch then found video marketing .
That’s when I started generating traffic, leads and sales.
When I figured out I wanted to do online/affiliate marketing I started searching.
Searching terms like, “How to build a business on the internet” or “How to make money with affiliate marketing.”
Started researching these keywords and finding keywords people were actually searching for.
Discovered ranking video in the organic search results and that it’s 36 times easier to rank a Youtube video than a standard website.
Big Reason Why:
My biggest driver is being a devout Christian in following Christ.
I want to do Gods work and make a ton of money so that I can bless a lot of people.
Biggest Temporary Defeat:
When I finally caught onto video so ranking stuff.
I remember going through a period where Youtube was shutting accounts down left right and center but I found a way around it.
What’s the long term vision of Jon Penberthy look like?
I don’t want to stay in 1 industry selling 1 product for rest of my life.
For now it’s to help small business owners get more traffic, leads and sales for their business.
For the long run it’s to constantly stay ahead of the curb.
I wants to open a cafe, a physical business I can create more jobs with and have people working for me.
Jon, what’s your best entrepreneur advice?
You need to be getting around people who get you and think like you.
I always base my traveling around an event.
I attend a new mastermind/event at least once a month.
It will change your thinking and mindset and show you what’s possible.
Get a mentor.
Never be the smartest person in the room.
Find someone in your industry doing what inspires you.
Favorite Success Quote:
“Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won’t, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t.”
Top Recommended Book:
I don’t read many books, but the Bible is favorite book.
It has inspiration, real life lessons and everything I need.
Jon, what are your Top 3 Youtube Video Tips for generating free traffic and leads?
You need to Target a specific key phrase. What terms are they searching for and record a video specifically targeting that problem offering the solution.
Make your videos short and sweet. 2-3 mins.
Make sure you’re building your list.
What’s the best way for our listeners to connect with you Jon?
frontlinemarketer.com is my brand new site I just launched.
