Daniel Maw is a partner and co-founder of HACKSAW, voted one of the UK’s top 40 design studios. Daniel studied Interactive Multimedia at Huddersfield University and received multiple awards in university showcases.
Interestingly Weird Fact?
As a kid I liked the sensation of falling sleep so I use to set 2 alarms just to wake up and fall back asleep.
How did your journey as an entrepreneur all begin?
Started back in University.
I was doing a bit of freelance development work to build my craft.
As a joke told my friend why don’t we create a studio.
Found a office space ready for when we graduated.
Chose office, decorated, got machines, software, etc.
Had a niche, doing crazy creative things in our local area.
Ended up being services from another company.
We ended up merging with them and that became what Hacksaw is today.
Big Reason Why?
I’m a talker, I will talk to anybody.
I like people, I have a short amount of patience for some things but love people.
I’m extremely proud of what we done and what we come from because we started from zero.
Biggest Temporary Defeat?
My biggest temporary defeat was….. I don’t like to get anything wrong. It would put me in a bad mood.
Maybe 12 months ago I come up with a thought or mentality, deep breath do something, figure it out , it’s not as big an issue you make it out to be.
What’s the Vision of Daniel Maw look like for the future?
Getting married soon. Going to New York for 5 days.

We realized in the past 6-12 months that you got to sell that relationship of them working with YOU.
